Sabre is a light cutting and thrusting weapon that targets the whole body above the waist but it does not include the hands. If a person hits with a tip or with the side, in both cases point will be given to hitter. "Right of way" applies only one fencer can score at a time.

Foil is one of the light thrusting weapons that target the torso, and it including the back but not the arms. If a person hit his opponent with the side then the score will not be count but if he hits with its tips then a person gets a score. Only a single hit can be scored by either fencer at one time. When both fencers hit at the same time, the referee uses the rules of “right of way” and then determines which fencer gets the point.
Épée
Épée is a heavy thrusting weapon that targets the entire body. Point will be given if a hitter hits with tips and if hitter hits by side then no point will be given. Right of way" does not apply in this scenario.
Fencing competitions at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London are programmed to be held from 28 July to 5 August at ExCeL Exhibition Centre. Ten events are scheduled to be contested. The International Fencing Federation (FIE) pushed for the inclusion of two more team events, but the IOC voted to keep the current format of ten events. Italy's Valentina Vezzali has a chance to become only the fourth athlete to win individual gold medals in four consecutive Summer Olympics if she wins women's individual foil competition.
